Close to 25,000 Left Without Power in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Severe Storms
Nearly 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland woke up without power on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems swept through the region, bringing strong winds reaching over 100 km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Impact
Homeowners reported giant hailstones as large as 7cm in particular locations. Weather authorities announced that multiple regions across the state had been hit with large hailstones.

Emergency crews were working to restore energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units activated to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
At the same time, nearly 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also encountered energy failures after the capital city saw its wettest day in 18 months.
Emergency response teams handled nearly 600 emergency reports across the region, primarily for structural issues but also for fallen timber and inundation.

- Hoppers Crossing suburb - numerous rescue reports
- Wyndham region - nearly 180 calls for assistance
At the height on the previous day, more than 28k energy customers in the state were experiencing outages.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along much of Queensland's east this week as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
The following day was forecast to be the wettest day, with ongoing storm activity expected across various areas of both regions.

Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to significant health impacts in the state.
