Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult season, managing just one win at the big events and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt since March of that year.
The win also means Medvedev has won 21 victories at 21 various tournaments.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters together, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," said world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and recurring reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was over.
Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an better serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the first set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his first tour victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.
Moutet defended 4 early break points in a close third set before the Russian won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev earned the title with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
